Especially in procurement management, targeted further education is crucial, as you often only have a single negotiation opportunity with the supplier, and the result is a long-term basis. Pure theory transfer is usually not sufficient here – instead, practical examples must be the focus. Another important component for the training duration is the existing procurement portfolio and the lived communication with suppliers, as well as the current contract situation. To achieve rapid and maximum success, simulations, case studies, and real practical cases are indispensable. Role-playing and data-based analyses help to play through typical negotiation situations and develop optimal strategies. Companies should therefore ensure that training not only imparts knowledge but is also tailored to the individual challenges of purchasing. Because whoever only has one chance with the supplier must be optimally prepared. A basic training of 2-3 seminar days is recommended!
